A routine mission soon ends in disaster for communications expert Zack Fischer as he finds himself stranded on an alien world. With no chance of rescue he must continue on foot with his mission to reach a remote mountain station.
Along the journey he encounters Edwards a crewman from another wrecked vessel, a lone survivor of a murdered crew. His escape from the slaughter is a mystery that will hold the key to Fischer’s own destiny.
Cost Effective contains fourteen illustrations that brings to life a lonely world and gives an extra dimension to the genre of classic SF short stories.
I will name drop now. I would like to draw to everyone’s attention my friend Cyn, who is a brilliant artist and is licensed by Lucasfilm. Please visit her websites. Oh which one Cyn? She has a few. For those who like Star Wars please go here: http://www.cynthiacummensart.com.
However, Cynthia is a very fine children’s illustrator. So you must see her website here: www.cynnarcisi.com. She has helped me a lot with my work and taken time out over a long distance which I am very grateful to her for.
Got a scene from a film in your head that could have happened? Want to see characters from Expanded Universe or the movies doing their thing with style? Or have a pose that you think is different from all the others?
Post your ideas for a sketch card and the winner will get their card drawn and sent to them to keep!
So I want people to be different. You can mention any characters from the Star Wars Universe. Tell me your idea for the card and a bit about why you thought the idea up. For example:
“I would like to see Han Solo getting married to Princess Leia. Both exchanging vows on Coursescant. I think their embrace could reflect Anakin and Padame”
Ah that’s nice.
Or ” Mara Jade. Having a bad day”
Short but it’s got potential.
See what you can do.

Get thinking!
Tomorrow will see my starting of a fun competition for sketch card ideas. I will announce tomorrow. The prize… obvious I suppose. The winning idea will have the card drawn and sent to them. No there is no money involved. This is just for fun.
Is this madness or genius? Sketching something in a Lego theme?

I did this a while ago: a concept of a new ship for Star Trek. See the little ship on the back, like a mini Defiant.
A small coloured pencil sketch. A hoodie without an attitude…
Ok, this is a poster I put together for friend who really loves Star Wars comics. He gave me some copies and I had a look through and found an issue of a Dark Horse comic that had a story of Darth Vader fighting Darth Mal. Very cool. So I used this as the basis of my poster. It’s magic markers and a bit of coloured pencil. This is now in his room dedicated to Star Wars, righ next to a Ralph McQuarrie painting! No I don’t think I’m anywhere nearly as good as him.
